This is my go-to, clean eating breakfast when I’m short on time. If you prefer your oatmeal a little sweeter you can drizzle it with a bit of raw, local honey. You can also top it with a few raw, chopped nuts for added protein.
Strawberry Chia Oatmeal
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
1 cup water
2 teaspoons chia seeds
5 or 6 strawberries, sliced
In a medium bowl (a deep cereal bowl works well) combine the oats and water. Microwave about 4 minutes on 50% power. Cooking times will vary depending on your microwave, so watch for overflowing and cook for an additional minute if needed. When the oats are cooked, stir in the chia seeds and let it sit for two minutes. Top with the strawberries, and enjoy!
